COMPANY HISTORY
One of Oregon's oldest, most successful electrical contractors, Heil Electric Company was founded in 1955 by Philip S. Heil. Today, the company is a versatile mix of traditional contractor and innovative industry leader. From our beginnings in the 1950s, Heil Electric has continued to expand. During the '60s, the company began taking on larger commercial and industrial work, handling schools, shopping centers, and contracts within the wood products industry. Through the next decade, Heil Electric garnered a number of projects with government agencies and private industries, projects such as high-rise low income housing, high-rise office remodels, and concrete pipe manufacturing plants. By the '80s, the company had branched out into highway lighting, traffic signals, and bridge construction. In the late '80s and into the '90s, Heil Electric's momentum gathered speed with heavy involvement in Tri-Met's East Side Light Rail project, Cellular and PCS switching and cell sites, environmentally conscious work for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations, and numerous industrial and commercial design-bid projects.
